In Memoriam – Jimmy Hays, Chairman Emeritus
In 1950, Jimmy Hays joined his father, Charles G. Hays, after graduating from Georgia Tech with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. At that time, the family business was still Hays Heating and Plumbing Company. Jimmy eventually became president and expanded the business into air conditioning, the foundation for where Hays Service is today. Jimmy ran the business for over 40 years, and got to see his son and grandson join Hays Service as the company continued to expand.
Cal Hays, Visionary
Cal Hays joined the company in 1977 after graduating from Georgia Tech. He has worked in every department of the company and was responsible for the partnership between Hays Service and Linc Service in 1989. This partnership led to a service department and eventually a separate service division to help both existing and new customers save on owning and operating costs.
Cal has been married for 44 years and has been blessed with six children and seven grandchildren. He enjoys fishing, boating, and most competitive sporting events. When time allows, he visits his children and their families in Coastal Georgia, North Carolina, and Tennessee.
Calvin Hays, General Manager
Calvin Hays joined Hays Service in 2009 and is proud to be a fourth generation owner. Calvin has responsibilities in both operations and maintenance sales. He provides oversight for daily operations as well as contract pricing, implementation, and quality control.
He is married to Betsy Hays and has three children. Calvin enjoys spending time with his family at the soccer fields, lake, and beach.
Bob King, Sales Manager
Bob joined Hays Service in 2016. After growing up in Macon, Bob moved away in 1992 as part of a company transfer.
Since 1984, Bob has been providing customer satisfaction consultative sales in the print industry, the latest as a national accounts executive. He brings 32 years of experience and is tasked with helping building owners find bottom line profits in areas not often researched; uncovering opportunities for reducing energy consumption through lighting, controls, efficient maintenance programs and equipment upgrades.
Bob is a certified personal trainer and enjoys time spent lifting weights, as well as golf and fishing.
Dennis Earwood, Project Manager
Dennis Earwood joined the Hays team in 2017 bringing with him 32 years of HVAC & Electrical experience. As the Project Manager for Hays, Dennis works closely with our team and vendors, to ensure that projects run smoothly & efficiently.
Dennis is married to Angel and together they have a blended family of 4 children and 2 grandchildren. He loves to entertain, travel, fish, hunt and spending time with family & friends.
Michael Whitten, Service Support
Michael Whitten joined the company in 1983. He has worked in the mechanical areas of plumbing, piping and supervision until 2002 when he moved to the service department of the company. Michael is responsible for locating equipment and parts, pricing field spot and project repair quotes, parts distribution to the technicians and communications with dispatch about the status of parts ordered.
Michael has been married to Lynneth Whitten for 26 years, has three children and four grandchildren. He enjoys reading, fishing, camping and spending time with his family. He is an active Scouts BSA volunteer.
Steve Mincey, Project Sales
Steve Mincey joined the Hays Teams bringing with him a lot of talent and years of experience. In 1996, Steve entered the HVAC industry as an Inventory Control Manager for a large HVAC company and worked his way through tech school. Steve served as Commercial Technician, Maintenance Tech, and Installer building a reputation for customer care and service. He moved into a Commercial Accounts position in 2003 where he was responsible for projects, repair cost, and growing the commercial department with real customer service and customer satisfaction. With Steve’s 25 years’ experience he is ready to take on all your Project needs from the smallest to the largest.
Steve enjoys spending time with his family, friends, camping, hunting, and fishing.
Chad Carden – Service Manager
Chad Carden joined the Hays Team in 2021 as the Service Manager. A graduate of Georgia College, Chad brings with him 20+ years of business leadership and entrepreneurial experience as well as safety program oversight and development.
Chad has been married to Christy Carden for 27 years. They have 2 grown daughters. In his spare time, Chad enjoys long distance hiking, camping, traveling and hunting.

Alyssa Mathews, Service Coordinator
Alyssa Mathews joined the company in March 2013 bringing with her 15+ years of experience in the customer service industry. As the Service Coordinator for Hays Service, she is responsible for contract management, the C.A.R.E program, facilities management, IT and assists with scheduling and dispatching the technicians to ensure that every customer’s need is met with an exceptional level of service.
Alyssa is a Macon native with 3 amazing children and 1 grandchild that she loves to spoil. She is an avid reader who enjoys getting lost in the world of whatever book she happens to be reading.
Susan Washburn, CFO
Susan Washburn joined the Hays team in 2002. A graduate of Georgia College, Susan is a CPA and is responsible for the accounting operations of Hays Service. She is married to Kim Washburn, pastor at Greenwood Baptist Church. They have three grown sons, three daughters-in-law and five grandchildren. In her spare time, Susan enjoys traveling, reading and spending time with her family.
Liane Snow, Controller/Human Resources
Liane Snow joined Hays Service in August 2015. A graduate of Mercer University, Liane serves as Controller/HR for Hays Service. She brings with her over 25 years accounting experience as well as 15 plus years working in Human Resources.
Liane is married to Mark Snow and has three children and 2 grandchildren. Liane enjoys reading, traveling and spending time with her family.
Katie Evans, Dispatcher
Katie Evans joined Hays Service in January 2021, bringing with her 15+ years of Customer Service in various industries. As the dispatcher Katie is the first point of contact for customers when a service need arises and ensures they are taken care of with the exceptional level of service that Team Hays is known for.
Katie is married to Rick Evans and together they have two children. She enjoys doing outside activities with her kids, home improvement projects, and cooking.
